MG Windsor

MG has introduced its new EV Windsor in India. The car is available in three variants, namely-Excite, Exclusive and Essence.Price of the base Excite variant starts at Rs.13.50 lakh and goes up to Rs. 15.50 lakh ex-showroom for the top end Essence variant. You can purchase the Windsor in low cost by battery subscription plan. Through this plan you can own this car at less price by subscribing the battery for Rs.3.35/km.

Windsor looks good with its uniquely designed bonnet and the long DRLs. LED Projector headlamps are provided. MG logo is prominently placed on the bonnet. Headlamps are provided on the bumper.

Windsor is a long car with 2700mm wheelbase. The car looks very spacious from outside because of its large glass area. Aerodynamically designed stylish 18 inch alloy wheels looks good from the sides.

The car looks very beautiful from the rear too. MG logo and Windsor name are prominent. LED tail lamps and light bar provided on the car looks very beautiful. Rear spoiler and and first in segment glass antenna are provided. It has a boot space of 604 liter, is sufficient to carry the luggage of a small family.

While entering into the car, you will be welcomed with its tech.  loaded 15.6 inch infotainment system of the Windsor. This system houses almost all the functions related to the car including the controls of 9 speaker infinity audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.  The 8 inch Driver information display of the car provides all the drive and vehicle related information to the driver.

Both driver and co-driver seats are ventilated and very comfy. Both these seats, driver seat having having 6-way electrical adjustment. You will get a storage space under the driver arm rest too. It has a nice flat bottom steering wheel with cruise control and audio telephony switches perfectly matching with the overall beauty of the car.

You will get three cup holders and wireless mobile charger at front apart from this lot of storage spaces are available inside the car. 256 ambient color adjustment with auto change is an amazing feature available with the Windsor is a first in segment feature.

As the front, the back seats of the Windsor is also very comfortable.MG calls it Aero-Lounge seats. There are sufficient headroom and legroom are available. It can accommodate three passengers, but is ideal and comfortable for two . Three headrests and seatbelts for three passengers are provided. Seat reclining adjustments are also provided on these rear seats. 

Rear seat central arm rest with two cup holders, type c mobile charging port and rear A/c vents are also provided for rear passengers.

Windsor is a very premium looking car from inside and having a very roomy interior, but it looks more premium an upmarket and even more spacious with its large panoramic sunroof MG calls it infinity glass view. MG has given everything in this EV to pamper its owners with latest tech and beauty.

Performance.

The Windsor available with a 38kWh battery pack with IP67: with water and dust resistant certification, delivers a very powerful but yet smooth driving experience. It is provided with four driving modes- Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sports. MG is promising a decent range of 332.km in full charge. But we can expect somewhere around 300km in the real world scenario.

Charging Time

Windsor can be charged from 0-100% with an A/c fast charger in 6.5 hours. But it can be charged with a DC fast charger from from 0-80% in just 55 minutes. It is also provided with a charging cable, that can be used to charge the vehicle from a 15A socket.
