Renault has introduced its updated Triber in India. Price of the Triber starts at Rs.6.0 lakh for the base RXE variant and goes up to Rs.8.97 lakh for the top end RXZ-Automatic Dual Tone variant.
From the front it is now much more bolder than the previous version. Now the car is comes with an updated grille and LED headlamps. You can see the power bulges on the bonnet. A silver color skid plate is provided. LED fog lamps are nicely tucked inside the bumper. With all these the car looks handsome from the front.
You can see the long wheelbase of the Triber from the sides. It has wheelbase of 2636 mm and the Renault has done their best to utilize that wheelbase by accommodating the third row seats in it. Although these seats are not suitable for adults in long distance journeys but it is good to accommodate kids up to the age 11. Apart from the wheelbase, the large glass area, roof rails and 15 inch wheels are making it a big car from the sides.
At the rear, you can see the high mounted stop lamp and break lights. Rear wiper is provided. Renault logo and Triber badging are prominently placed on the boot lid. The car is provided with 84 liter of luggage space with the third row seats in upright position, it can be enhanced to 625 liters by removing the third row seats. Skid plate provided under the bumper giving it an SUV style from rear.At the interior, you will get a nice dashboard with a 20.32 cm touch screen infotainment system, rear camera and music system are integrated with this system. It is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Storage spaces like cooled glove box , cooled center console are provided. Wireless mobile phone charger, a 2Volt and a USB mobile phone charging sockets are also made available with the Triber.
Steering wheel of the car is provided with switches of cruise control and volume control. It is having tilt adjustment function. 17.78 TFT display provided on the car helps the driver to know the vehicle and drive related information. Front seats of the car is very comfortable.
6-Way adjustable driver seat is provided, the height of the seat can be adjusted manually. Rear seat comfort is also very good. Three people can sit comfortably in this seat. You will get a rear A/c vent and mobile phone charging points at the second row. However you won't get any cup holder or arm rest in this row. When come to the third row, there are very minimal leg space available in this row and so this place is best suited for small kids.
When come to the driving department, the car is provided with a 999 cc 3-cylinder petrol engine which produces 70PS power and 96NM torque. The engine is either mated with a 5-Speed manual or a 5-Speed AMT gear box.
From the above figures it is clear that this is not for any driving enthusiasts. It purely a practical family car. This engine and gear box options are ideally best to extract maximum mileage from the engine.

In conclusion, Renault Triber is a well built car with 4 star safety ratings in GNCAP. It is a nice and spacious 7 seater MPV. As of now it is the only vehicle available in India in its price point with three row seats and a better build quality. This makes, the Triber an ultimate choice to those require a 7 seater and don't want to compromise on the safety of their family.
