BYD ATTO 3

 

BYD ATTO 3 is an electric car from the Chinese Automobile Manufacturer BYD. It is a nice car from its exterior,very futuristic from interior, having a powerful motor and promising  521 km range in single charge. In India we are going to get it in single variant with 201 bhp power and 310 Nm Torque. The price of the car will be Rs.33.90 Lakh Ex-showroom.

When go to the details, there are LED headlamps with DRLs are beautifully provided at the front. An LED strip is provided under the aluminium front grille looks nice. A skid plate and a thin airdam are also provided on the bumper making it a sporty car from the front angle.

When come to the sides you can find body coloured ORVMs with turn indicators. Door handles are in body colour. Aerodynamically designed 18 inch alloy wheel looks very premium. It is a nice car from sides.

The Atto 3 is enabled with a NFC smart card. The door will unlock by tapping this smart card on the NFC logo provided on the right wing mirror. Also you can start the car by ensuring this card in your pocket. Moreover it comes with Key-less entry feature too.

Also you can see a long LED lightbar, which is connecting two set of LED tail lamps looks really beautiful at the rear. Rear spoiler with stop lamps and a sharkfinn antenna are also provided with Atto 3. A black  skid plate is provided on the bumper. The tail gate can be operated electrically and the car is having a boot space of 440 liters, which can be increased to 1,340 liters by folding the rear seats. Overall it is a nice and beautiful car.

When step into the car, you will be wondered with the unique styling and design of the interior. BYD calls it as "wave design" and is really looks good. A flat-bottom steering wheel is provided. At the driver side you will get a 5-inch digital display, which is very clear and will provide necessary vehicle and drive related information to the driver.

At the center of the dash, you can see a very responsive 12.8 inch touch screen infotainment system that can be rotated for either a landscape or a portrait view. 360 degree camera and music system are integrated with this system. An eight speaker music system is provided in this vehicle.

A/c vents and door lever are unique in style. Look at the door lever placed on the door speaker. It is a unique design.

Overall, the interior of the car is very much different than the conventional type that we are familiar till now with regular EVs. The gear lever and door handles are also very unique by design.

Seats of the Atto are excellent. Front seats can be adjusted electrically. Three people can sit comfortably at the rear seat. A/c vents and two USB charging slots are provided at the rear. You will get 2 USB charging points and a wireless charger at front. As storage, there are two cup holders on the front console, a small storage space is available under the front arm rest. All doors are provided with bottle holders. Also you will get two cup holders at the rear seat armrest.

In short, the Atto 3 having a very best interior. Moreover the long panoramic sunroof making the cabin more airy and premium too. 

Powertrain

The Atto 3 is equipped with 60.48kWh battery pack. The electric motor provided on the front axle shells out 201bhp power and 310Nm Torque. The car can sprint 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds. Further it is equipped with Eco, Normal and Sports drive modes. Also this vehicle having the VTOL (Vehicle to Load)  feature as we saw with Kia EV6. With this feature you can use the vehicle like a large powerbank to run certain electrical appliances or can charge portable devices.

Atto 3 can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 50 minutes with 80kW DC fast charger. But it will take about 10 hours to charge up with 7.2kW AC charger.

The Atto 3 comes with lots of safety features includes 7 Airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill decent control, all disc brakes, 360 Degree camera etc. Moreover, the car is equipped with latest ADAS features like, Blind spot monitoring, Adaptive cruise control, Lane keep assist, Emergency Automatic Braking etc.

To conclude, BYD Atto 3 is a nice, unique and a sporty EV with 521km claimed range. Definitely you can consider this EV if you are in search of a car at its price range.
