Hyundai Tucson

The All-new Hyundai Tucson is now available in India. It is a well built and feature rich SUV from the Korean car manufacturer. Let's look it in details.

It is based on Hyundai's new design theme called "Sensuous Sportiness". The Tucson is really a nice and eye-catching vehicle in all sense.

Exterior

Front View: You can see the piano black finished grille and two slot LED headlamps, which are provided on the bumper. There are power bulges, can be seen on the bonnet. A thin airdam and an aluminium finished skid plate is also provided.

Unique LED DRLs are the major attraction from the front. It lits up beautifully and enhances the beauty of the grille. These DRLs are darkened to match with the grille color and so it is very difficult to find the DRLs while the car is off. In short, Tucson is an eye-catching vehicle from front.

Side View:You can feel the length and long wheelbase from the sides of the Tucson. It is a 4.6 meter long SUV.

Beautiful cuts and creases can be seen along with the shoulder line of the car. ORVMs are provided in black colour and the turn indicators are well fixed on them. Roof rails are also provided in black colour. Also you can see the black cladding over the wheel arches and on the sides, apart from all of these the 18" Alloy wheels enhancing its overall beauty from sides.

Rear View: At the back you can see the integrated spoiler, Hyundai logo and Tucson badging and the HTRAC  badging-which shows it is an All-wheel drive model.

Apart from these you can see some premium elements like the long LED strip, which is  joining from one side to the other, a pair of LED tail lamps which really lits up beautifully with the long LED strip at night, LED stop lamp  the rear bumper and the skid plate are also provided. When come to the boot space, it won't disappoint you, it is having a very large boot space in the segment, moreover it can be enlarged by folding the rear seats. All of these things are making this SUV premium from rear.

Interior

Tucson comes with a well crafted beautiful interior. You can feel the premium quality on each and every corner inside in it.

 

It comes with a beautiful dashboard with black and white colour combination. Beautiful A/c vents are provided. You will get a 10.25 inch extremely smooth touch-screen infotainment system, which can support Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Features like 360 dgree camera, ADAS 2 and 64 colur ambient lighting etc. can be controlled from  this system. 

The steering wheel provided is also having premium look and definitely it is a premium steering wheel, it is an adjustable (telescopic) steering wheel. Cruise control and volume control switches are provided on the steering wheel.

Air purifier and Dual-zone A/c are provided. You will get a wireless mobile charger, a 12V charger and a USB charging port at front. The 8-speed automatic gear lever also looks premium. Two cup-holders, Drive mode & Terrain mode selectors are  provided near the gear lever. 

You will also get a 10.25 inch screen at the driver side also, which looks like a tablet computer. With this system you can access various vehicle related information very quickly.

A centre arm rest with a large storage space is available in the Tucson. The front seats are ventilated and the seat ventilation switches are provided on this arm-rest. All the seats are well cushioned and are ideal for long distance travel. The driver seat can be adjusted manually and so you can find your ideal driving position with ease. With large glass area the outside visibilty is excellent with this SUV.

When come to the rear seat, it is simply comfortable and luxurious. You will get sufficient head-room and leg-room in the Tucson. Three adjustable headrests are provided. These seat's slanting position can be adjusted manually. Moreover, you can generate more leg-room at the left side by sliding the co-driver seat to the front electrically from rear itself. 

A large electrically operated panoramic sun-roof provides sufficient lighting inside the cabin. A/c vents are available and two USB charging sockets are provided under them. Bottle holders are provided on doors. 

Another premium thing in this car is the 8 Speeker Bose music system, which is one of the best system available in the world.

Drivability

The Tucson is available in petrol and diesel engine variants. 

The petrol variant having a 1999cc engine which produces 156PS power and and 192Nm torque and is mated with a 6-speed torque converter gear box. On the other hand the diesel variant having a 1997cc engine which produces 186PS power and 416Nm torque, this variant comes with an 8 speed torque converter gear box.

Both variants are available only  with automatic gear boxes and  there is no option for manual variant.

Tucson provides a smooth driving experience with both engine options. Both engines are super silent engines. The refinement of the diesel engine is excellent. It is having a well tuned suspension and a well weighted steering wheel. Even though it is a 4.6 meter SUV you can drive it like a hatch back, that much simple and smooth is this vehicle. In simple terms, this SUV is tuned towards luxury and comfort.

Even if it is tuned for luxury the Tucson is provided with Multi-terrain mode switch. With this, you can select required terrain modes like, Snow, Mud and Sand modes. Moreover, the top end diesel variant comes with All-wheel drive system, which is definitely an added advantage.

Safety

Tucson comes with a lot of safety features. It is having 19 ADAS features. Some of the  safety features are given below.
