Virtus is the new sedan from VW. It is very stylish and a powerful vehicle from the German brand. This car is available in two engine and three gear box options. The price of the Virtus starts from Rs.11.25 lakh and goes up to Rs.18 lakh ex-showroom for the range topping GT-Plus model. Here I am giving the details of GT variant/GT Plus variant. Let's check it in details.

Virtus is jointly designed by VW's Indian and German engineers together by keeping the Indian road conditions in mind. It has the ground clearance of 179mm to handle almost all kinds country side and unpaved roads without much worry.
From the front, it is a bold looking car. It has very sharp bonnet lines. Rain sensing wipers are provided. VW logo and GT badging is provided on the grill. Sharp LED headlight and LED DRLs are provided. Fog lamps are placed on the bumper. Glossy black finish and chrome lines on the bumper making it more elegant from the front view.
When come to sides, you can see well designed 16-inch Diamond cut alloy wheels with Red brake calippers on front wheels. There is GT badging and sharp body lines on both sides. Outside rear view mirrors are provided in black colour with turn indicators. Window lines are finished with aluminium and it looks premium. Door handles are in chrome finish. In simple words-it is a sharp looking car from sides.
At the back, you can find the beautifully placed smoked LED tail lamps with turn indicators. GT and Virtus badging and the VW logo are prominently placed at the rear. It has a very beautiful rear bumper with chrome lines on it. Virtus having a boot space of 521 liter which can be enhanced by folding the 60:40 rear split seats. It is a very practical car in terms of its boot capacity and a beautiful car from its exterior design.

Touch and feel of the climatronic A/c controls are very good. Dual tone dash board (body coloured inserts) is provided on the GT variant. As storage, it has a cool glove box, bottle holders are provided on all four doors and two cup holders are provided on the centre console. There is a small storage space under the front arm rest too.
For energising your mobile devices, there is a 12V charging port is on the centre console, apart from this you can find a wireless mobile charging pad and two USB charging points at the front.
Virtus having a 10-inch well laid out touch screen infotainment system which is very fluidic and quick responsive. This system can support wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. 360 Degree camera is integrated with it. VW-connected features like Geo-fencing, Valet mode etc are also configured in this system.
On the top end GT Plus variant you will get a 8-inch full digital driver side display. Lot of vehicle related informational can be accessed from this screen.
When come to steering wheel, Virtus having a nice and premium 3 spoke flat bottom steering wheel. Touch and feel of the steering is very premium. Paddle shifters are provided on it. Cruise control and radio telephony switches are also provided on the steering wheel.
As in the front, you will get a very well cushioned seats at the rear too. It has excellent thigh support.Head room and leg room are sufficient. This seat having three adjustable headrests. Three average people can sit comfortably at the rear.
At the comfort front you will get rear A/c vents, two USB charging points and a centre arm rest with two cup holders on the seat. It is a nice seat to take a day long travel in a comfortable and relaxing manner in this tough built car.
When come to driving department, it is a good driving machine.1.5 liter 4 cylinder 1498cc turbocharged petrol engine is mated with a 7 speed DSG transmission unit. It can churn out max.Power of 147.51bhp@5000-6000rpm and Max. Toque of 250Nm@1600-3500rpm. Gear shifts are very quick. As per VW it can claim 0-100km/h speed in 9.4sec which is at par with its twin brother Skoda Slavia and the Japanese legend Honda City-Hybrid.
Virtus is a powerful car at the same time it is fuel efficient too. As per the ARAI Virtus will get the mileage of 18.67km/l. But in real world we can expect the mileage between 11-14km/l. This car having cylinder de-activation technology, which helps to increase the fuel efficiency of the car by automatically deactivating two cylinders out of four while the it is cruising on highways or when the engine load is low.
Apart from driving exitement, the ride in this sedan is also very comfortable. It has a wheel base of 2651mm. It is very stable on highways. Because of its high ground clearance it can tackle almost all road conditions quiet easily. Virtus will make you feel everytime that you are cocooned in a safe shell of a well engineered European brand.
At the safety front you will get tons of safety features.The car comes with six air bags, Tire pressure monitoring system,Hill-hold assist, ABS, EBD, ESC, Brake Disc wiping, Anti-Slip regulation, auto-dimming day night mirror, Geo-fencing, Time-fencing, Safety alerts, SOS messaging, Rear-view camera with guidelines and many more.
