Vitara Brezza was the most popular compact SUV of India from Maruti Suzuki. It has sold about 7.5 lakh unit since its launch in 2016. Vitara Brezza's boxy design and spacious interiors were it's USPs. Now in its updated avatar the car has changed a lot from inside out. First of all there is a change in its name itself. With this update the Maruti has dropped the name 'Vitara' from its original name-Vitara Brezza. Now the car is known as 'Brezza' only.
EXTERIOR
Dimension wise it is same as the old Brezza. It is based on the same TECT Platform. Now the car looks wider from both front and back. Let's look around the car.
Front View
You can see an updated grill from the front side. Top variants of the Brezza comes with Dual barrel LED Headlamps and DRLs, whereas the lower variants (LXi/VXi) gets halogen lamps. Squarish LED fog lamps are placed on the lower side of the bumper in ZXi+ variant.
The new bonnet,big air dam and skid plate are making the car more muscular than the the old version of the Brezza.
Side View
Big cladding can be seen from the sides of the car. Auto folding Piano Black ORVMS with turn indicators looks beautiful. Door handles are body coloured.
The rear corner glass and the 16 inch Diamond-cut alloy wheels making the car premium. Besides these, the newly added Roof rails enhancing its SUV stance from sides.
Rear View
Car looks wider from the back thanks to the updated LED tail lamps. These tail lamps making the car elegant from rear.
Smart Hybrid badge is provided under the tail lamp.A rear wiper is provided on top variant.

Integrated spoiler provided looks nice, the rear view camera is fixed on this spoiler. The vehicle having a 328 liter boot space, which is not bad for a small family. However the boot space can be enhanced by folding the 60:40 rear split seats. A space saver spare wheel is provided inside this boot.
INTERIOR
The new Brezza comes with an updated interior. By entering into the cabin you will immediately notice the new 9-inch SmartPlayPro+ infotainment system. It is the same system that we can see in the new Baleno.
This system has very sharp and clear display. It consists several Suzuki Connect features too. The 360 degree camera is also paired with this touch screen system.It supports AndroidAuto and AppleCarplay too.
Besides these, all the vehicle related informational can be accessed from this screen.There is a blue ambient lighting in this car. This makes the interior more premium.
The top Z variants of the Brezza gets a perimum looking two-tone chocolate brown and black interior. Front seats are well cushioned. Brezza comes with a flat bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters. Volume,cruise control and wireless telephony switches are also provided on the steering wheel.
You will get a wireless mobile charging pad. Besides this there is a 12V and a USB charging sockets are also provided at the front. Touch and feel of the A/c controls are also very good. The vehicle having an ARKAMYS sound system with good audio quality.
Rear A/c Vents and two USB charging sockets (Type A and Type C) are provided for rear passengers. Head room and leg room are sufficient at the back. Seats are well cushioned. Two head rest and a centre arm-rest with cup-holder are also provided. Brezza can accommodate three people comfortably at rear.
MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS
Head-up Display
This is the same display that is introduced with the new Baleno.
You can see vehicle speed, RPM, gear position,A/c fan speed etc. from this display. The display can be raised and folded by the press of a switch.
Sun-Roof
Maruti has finally introduced the Sun-roof with the new Brezza.
Brezza is the first Maruti vehicle getting a Sun-roof. It can be operated electrically.
360 Degree Camera
The vehicle comes with the 360-Degree camera.
The camera gives a clear vision with guidelines. It is a very useful feature while parking the vehicle at congested places.
STORAGE
At the storage front there are one bottle holder on each doors. Two cup holders are provided at the front console and two at the rear seat central arm rest. There is a small storage space under the sliding front arm rest. Brezza having a cool gloves box which is having a decent storage space too.
DRIVABILITY
The Brezza comes with a 1.5 Liter K-15C naturally aspirated dual jet VVT petrol engine assisted with a mild hybrid system. It produces 103PS power and 137Nm Torque. Engine is mated with a 5 speed manual and a 6 speed Torque converter automatic gear box.
The engine works very smoothly in both automatic and manual variants. Power comes in a linear manner. The Automatic variant comes with Paddle shifters for making the drive little engaging. It is a perfect cruiser. The cabin is also well insulated.
The mild hybrid system works well in the low speeds and city traffic conditions. Brezza's claimed mileage for the manual variant is 20.15km/l and 19.80km/l for the automatic variant.
The car provides excellent riding comfort too. Suspension duties are taken up by MacPherson Strut at front and Torsion Beam & Coil spring at rear. In short Brezza is a comfortable sub compact vehicle.
SAFETY
At the safety front the Brezza comes with tonnes of safety features. Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX, Rear parking sensors, ESP and Hill-Hold Assist comes as standard with all variants whereas the top variant gets Six Airbags, a 360 Degree camera and an Auto-Dimming IRVM.
The Brezza is from an improved TECT platform. The old version of the car was certified with 4 star ratings in adult safety and 5 star in child occupant safety by GNCAP.
PRICE
The price of the BREZZA starts at Rs.7.99 Lakh and goes up to Rs.13.96 Lakh ex-showroom.
CONCLUSION
It is a nice car from Maruti Suzuki. Now this updated Brezza comes with attractive design and tonnes of improved safety features. Moreover the Brezza having a smooth and updated Automatic gear box too. But when we compare Brezza's top variants with the competition, it is missing some features like DCT gear box, Turbo-petrol engine, a Diesel variant and ventilated seats. But it doesn't mean that it is not at par wit the competition, it is a perfect car with a larger 1462cc 4 cylinder engine. This is a silky smooth engine and provides excellent driving experience.
After all the Suzuki brand, which gives a promise of good after sales service and low maintenance cost. It gives a hassle free ownership experience too. So, definitely you can consider Brezza, especially it's automatic variant for your daily drive. In short It is a nice and comfortable subcompact SUV from Maruti Suzuki.
