MARUTI XL6

Indian car manufacturing giant Maruti Suzuki has updated it's premium MPV XL6. Let's check out this vehicle in detail.

Maruti XL6 is a premium version of Ertiga in all sense, where as Ertiga is a 7-seater and XL6 is a 6 seater MPV. Both XL6 and Ertiga shares same engine and gearbox configuration. It comes with two captain seats at the second row. It's main rival is newly launched Kia Carens, which is a most feature loaded MPV in the segment.

The new XL6 comes with next generation advanced Dual jet petrol engine, 5 speed manual and 6 speed automatic transmissions along with various comfort and convenience features. It is available in Zeta,Alpha and Alpha+ variants.

EXTERIOR FEATURES:

There are minor updates are done on the vehicle. Now it is coming with an updated front grill. LED headlamps and LED day time running lamps are provided. Fog lamps are fixed at the bumper. We can find chrome finished door handles,body coloured rear view mirrors with turn indicators from the side view. 16" dual tone machine cut alloy wheels are making the car more stylish. Smoked black tail lamps making the car more premium from rear. Roof rails, spoiler and Shark Finn antenna are provided at the top. All these things giving the car more bold and SUV like look.

INTERIOR FEATURES:

XL6 comes with all black interiors. Front seats are ventilated. A 7" touch screen infotainment system with Suzuki connect features are provided at front. This system having more than 40 connectivity features including Alexa connectivity.  This car comes with 360Degree camera. Two ventilated cup-holders are provided at the front of the gear lever. Driver seats can be adjusted manually. There are bottle holders on all doors. Over all the cabin is very spacious. Cruise control and wireless telephony are provided on the steering wheel. 

In the second row there are individual arm rest on both seats. These are very comfortable captain seats. Roof mounted A/C vents are provided in the second row. 12V charging sockets are provided at all 3 rows. The 3rd row seats are also good and comfortable but ideally it will good for children in long journey.  These seats are reclinable  seats. Cup holders are also provided in the 3rd row. 

Car having a boot space of 209 litres with all three rows up.

RIDE AND DRIVABILITY:

The heart of XL6 having a highly refined 1462cc 1.5liter K-Series Dual multi-jet petrol engine. It can produce max.power of 101.65bhp@6000rpm and the 136.8Nm torque@4400rpm. Both Manual and Automatic(Torque converter) are very smooth gear boxes. 

This vehicle is a perfect family MPV.Good suspensions and 2740mm wheel base giving a very pleasant ride. Body roll is minimal. The automatic version of XL6 comes with paddle shifters for an engaged  drive. The mild hybrid system helping the car to run on lower RPMs and helping to enhance the fuel efficiency.  Claimed mileage for manual version is approx. 21kmpl and for automatic is 20kmpl approximately. These are good figures for a petrol 6 seater MPV.

SAFETY FEATURES:

XL6 comes with lot of safety features, which includes:

• Rear Defogger.
